My Favorite Movies

My Favorite Movies

My all-time favorite movie.
Messed me up as far as beach trips go,
but still, I love it so.

The characters, the soundtrack, and, of course, the brilliant directing make this movie great! Works best when watched on a big screen with an excellent sound system. Lots of great dialogue too!

Although a scary film, this movie's full of humor; and the comedy comes from character. A must-see movie for all comedy writers. But not if you're about to go scuba diving.

Fun movie. Humorous. Spoke to me. The main character Bruce, to whom God gave the Gift of Making People Laugh, struggles with that role and longs for something more.

This movie also provides an excellent example of Free Will. Even with all the powers of God, Bruce can't make Grace love him. That's Free Will. We are neither robots nor puppets. God doesn't make us love Him.

The greatest comedy film by the greatest film comedian.

Although a silent movie in 1925, the 1942 re-released sound version has Charlie Chaplin himself narrating. The silent star speaks!

Such a fun, fun movie. Lots of great comedy sequences: Eating a shoe, the dance of the rolls, the cabin precariously perched upon a precipice, and much, much more!

Some touching moments too. Chaplin was a genius at blending both. And that made the comedic moments that much funnier. A great lesson for comedy writers to remember.

My secret favorite movie ....

The story's funny and fun. Might be a bit silly for some folks. But I think that's part of its charm.

Why is this my secret favorite? It's an Alternative-Lifestyle, Girl-Power, Chick Flick that might give some folks the wrong impression about the nature of the film.

It's PG-13, not R, or worse. I don't recall nudity or excessive foul language, if any. A former girlfriend made me get rid of my DVD of it, so I haven't seen it in a while. (She didn't even see the movie! She made erroneous assumptions based on the aforementioned subject matter. Girls in prep skirts on the cover didn't help either.)

That explains the secret part, so why is this my favorite?

I see this as a Power of Love movie. I like how the Super-Villain's willing to abandon her evil empire all for the sake of love. Isn't love all we really want? Or all we need as Lennon and the Beatles sang.

Co-stars Jordana BrewsterCool soundtrack too.

What's your favorite movie of all time?
What do you like most about it?
